Zebrabar is the alternative to 'normal' beach holidays. Directly on the sandy beach of the saltriver Senegal we built a camping area, bungalows, a restaurant and a tower with a panoramic view, all respecting ecological criteria.

Our story

After a few trips to Africa we found this lovely place and started in 1996 to build the Zebrabar.

Zebrabar is the meeting-point for Africa travellers. Whether on the north-southern or the east-western route, it's at Zebrabar where you get and share the latest information for your trip. For all repairs on your vehicles there is a well equipped workshop and competent help at hand.

Zebrabar is also for Ornithologists and Birdwatcher a unique destination located within the national park 'Langue de Barbarie', well known for its fauna rich with a lot of different birds (pelicans, flamingos, etc.). The park can be reached by fishermen's pirogue or by boats of the Zebrabar.

The name ZEBRABAR comes from ZEBRA (stands for Africa) and NjagaBAR (which means Pelican in Wolof, official senegalese language).

Our two children, Samira (1999) and Marco (2002), enjoy the freedom and are always looking forward to meeting travelling families. Together with our longterm staff, Anta, Binta, Saer and Diouf we would love to welcome you and be our guests.
